In June I will be starting an adults acoustic guitar ensemble allowing players of all levels to come together and play a range of styles. Details to follow!
I have taken guitar lessons with Kevin as an adult for a couple of years now, and would highly recommend him as a teacher. He carries a wealth of experience in teaching players of all ages and abilities, and lessons are structured to effectively improve playing technique, theoretical knowledge and all-round musicianship. Most importantly though, I have heaps of fun, and Kevin excels at making learning guitar fresh, exciting and highly accessible. The included performance opportunities are invaluable for building stage confidence and creating a feeling of community between students.
My guitar playing has come on in leaps and bounds and able to play songs that I never thought possible!! Kevin has a fantastic way in easing into playing and understanding musical theory and has a an empathetic approach with all his students who respond accordingly. Having been a “bedroom” player to playing live in front of a small audience is something I thought I would be incapable of!! These live nights Kevin organises are a fantastic opportunity to showcase our progression and his standard of teaching, while getting all members of the “Six String Squad” together for a thoroughly enjoyable collective night out!!
